Hey there! I'm Nicole, the mind and hands behind BronxArtHouse. If you're new here, I spend my weekdays in my good old 9-to-5, while navigating a creative practice. Squeezing in a sometimes exhausting struggle of large-scale, ambitious art into a life that already demands a full-time commitment.
My work, which includes painting, drawing, and those big murals you see, is grounded in the experiences of growing up in the Bronx. I really believe art should be a democratic, diverse, and equal playing field, no matter where you come from or what your day job is. This space is all about proving that you don't need fancy studios or endless free time to create something awesome. You just need passion, stubbornness, and maybe a lot of coffee.
Art is My Second Job (and I Love It... Mostly)
Since my mission is to show you that a full-time job can't stop the creative life, I focus on sharing the entire process and journey!
This community is for all of us who believe that art deserves an equal level with other pursuits. Whether you’re sneaking in a drawing while at work or spending your Saturday on a mural, I want to connect with you. It’s a lot more fun when we’re all in the creative grind together.
If you like the democratic, no-fuss approach to design and art I put out there, follow along! I promise to keep the process transparent and the tone light.
✨ Why the Name?
P.S. Why 'BronxArtHouse'? Simple: back in 2013 when the idea launched, I needed a little creative alias. I wanted a clear boundary between my full-time job and my passion, so BronxArtHouse became my anonymous creative headquarters. It’s my way of keeping the worlds separate and the name stuck!
